Sizes, Types, and Applications A door handle spindle is a critical mechanical component that connects door handles to the door body and transmits the rotational movement of the handle to the lock mechanism. Also known in English as a “door handle spindle” or “door handle square bar,” this component may appear small, but it is extremely important for door security and functionality. How Does a Door Handle Spindle Work? A door handle spindle acts as a shaft that connects the door handles on both sides and rotates between them. When the handle is turned, the spindle rotates and moves the latch in the lock mechanism, allowing the door to open. For this reason, both dimensional accuracy and material strength are of great importance. Standard Sizes and Dimensions Door handle spindles are generally manufactured with a square cross-section. The most commonly used sizes are: 6×6 mm — For lightweight interior door handles 7×7 mm — For standard interior doors 8×8 mm — The most commonly used size; for residential and office doors 9×9 mm — For doors requiring heavy-duty use 10×10 mm — For industrial doors and security doors Length options generally range from 5 mm to 200 mm, and project-specific cutting options are also available. What Is a Window Handle Spindle? A window handle spindle is a square-section steel shaft that connects the window handle to the locking mechanism and transmits the rotational movement. It is an essential component of PVC, aluminium, and wooden window systems. Standard Sizes Window handle spindles are generally manufactured with a 7×7 mm square cross-section, although custom dimensions are also available for different profile systems. Compatibility with PVC Windows Production is carried out in dimensions compatible with the main PVC profile systems used in Türkiye. It is important to select the correct size according to the profile system to be used; technical support is available when required. What Is a Slotted Handle Spindle? A slotted handle spindle is a specially formed door handle spindle with one or more longitudinal slots along the spindle body. These slots allow the handle to be secured to the spindle using a screw or pin.
